In announcing these promotions, Managing Principal Paul Baker said: “The mid-year promotions of six lawyers across our offices recognises their outstanding contributions and commitment to providing the highest standard of service to our clients.”

Promoted to Senior Associate in the firm’s Employment Team, Jessica Light was a finalist in this year’s annual NSW Young Lawyers Golden Gavel competition. Jessica’s expertise covers employment, workplace relations and occupational health and safety. Also in the Employment Team, Brisbane-based Leanne Dearlove was a Liability Claims Specialist for a major insurer prior to joining Meridian’s Employment Team in 2014.

In the firm’s Commercial Team, Janette Li (Melbourne) and Gabrielle Parra (Sydney) have been promoted to Associate. Janette is a commercial lawyer and trade marks attorney, with expertise in intellectual property law, business transactions and corporate governance work. Gabrielle’s areas of expertise include commercial litigation, representative proceedings/class actions, debt recovery and commercial law.

The growth of Meridian’s insurance practice has led to the promotion of two lawyers, Sarah Twinn and Anna Martin. In Brisbane Sarah Twinn has been promoted to Senior Associate. She defends personal injury claims, encompassing matters involving occupier’s liability, host employer labour hire issues, and professional indemnity.

Promoted to Associate in Melbourne, Anna Martin joined Meridian in 2013 and her keen advisory skills and commercial understanding of financial services businesses has proved invaluable in providing insurance advice for the leading insurer for allied health professionals.
