Medical

No other Australian law firm can match our breadth of experience in insurance and health law across such a wide range of medical professions and businesses.

Supporting medical professionals

Our team has a significant background and proven expertise in supporting and defending medical practitioners including doctors, radiographers and nurses. Our team’s experience extends to acting for medical defence organisations and other medical insurers. We act for Divisions of General Practice, general practitioners, nurses, hospitals, hospital service providers and pathology companies.

A number of our lawyers are also qualified nurses, enhancing our team’s skill set and our ability to analyse complex medico-legal perspectives.

Our experience covers all court jurisdictions including Supreme, District/County and Local/Magistrates’ courts. We deal extensively with administrative bodies including professional councils, Medicare, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the Administrative Decisions Tribunal/Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and the Australian Human Rights Commission.
