The program is designed to launch your legal journey with a unique experience that combines practical learning, professional development, and exposure to a broad range of practice areas.
About the Program
Our year-long Graduate Program, available in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, is tailored for law graduates who have not yet completed their Practical Legal Training (PLT). It offers the opportunity to explore what a future at Meridian could look like through meaningful work and broad exposure across the firm.
- In Melbourne, and Sydney, graduates complete rotations across our General Insurance/Professional & Financial Risks, Health, and Corporate and Commercial practice groups, lasting approximately three to four months.
- In Brisbane and Perth, graduates complete two six-month rotations in our General Insurance/Professional & Financial Risks, and Health practice groups.
As a Graduate at Meridian, you will:
- Rotate through multiple practice areas across the firm’s key specialties
- Work on real matters from day one, supporting our lawyers in delivering practical, commercially focused legal solutions
- Receive guidance and mentorship from Principals and senior legal professionals
- Be part of a team that values collaboration, diversity, and technical excellence
- Access ongoing professional development, including support to complete your PLT
- Participate in firm-wide networking and social events

Eligibility and Key Dates
To apply, you must:
- Be a recent law graduate or in your final semester of law studies
- Not have completed your Practical Legal Training (PLT)
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interviews with our People & Culture team, Principals, and senior lawyers.
Successful candidates will be notified by our People & Culture team.
Applications close on Friday 29 August 2025, with graduates starting their placements on 13 October 2025.
