INSIGHTS: Media release: Meridian boosts health law expertise

Meridian Lawyers continues to go from strength to strength with leading health and insurance law Principal Andrew Saxton and his team joining the firm next month.

Joining Andrew in the move from Dibbs Barker to Meridian are Senior Associates, Joanne Hayes and Louise Watson and graduate Lauren Biviano.

Andrew served on the Dibbs Barker Board for 6 years and was Chair between 2012 and 2016. He was previously a Partner at Ebsworth & Ebsworth (now HWL Ebsworth). Recently, Andrew was recognised by Best Lawyers in the fields of Health & Aged Care Law and Medical Negligence in 2017 and 2018 and was nominated as the Medical Negligence ‘Lawyer of the Year’ in Sydney in 2016.

As a specialist in health law, Andrew assists health professionals and organisations in responding to professional indemnity claims, disciplinary proceedings and Medicare investigations as well as appearing as an advocate at coronial inquests.

Significant work Andrew has conducted includes insurance audits for London underwriters and assisting charitable and religious organisations respond to abuse claims.
