Media release: Meridian Lawyers is pleased to announce that Mark Birbeck, insurance specialist, has joined the firm as a Principal, to head their new Perth office and spearhead its expansion into Western Australia. Mark joins from HBA lawyers of which he was a founding Partner based in their Perth office.
This announcement follows on from the news earlier this week that leading insurance lawyer, Andrew Sharpe would be joining the firm in Meridian’s Sydney office.
Paul Baker, Managing Principal at Meridian Lawyers said the decision to expand into Perth was the result of overwhelming client urgings and that he believes expanding the firm’s legal service offer into Perth is an obvious progression and consistent with the firm’s strategic plan to remain a leading Australian law firm in the insurance sector.
Mr Baker said that they jumped at the chance to recruit Mark when they opportunity arose. “Mark is well known to our team and his local and overseas client base and connections fit perfectly into the Meridian fold. Our Western Australian clients will benefit from Mark’s experience and genuine understanding of the insurance industry gained over more than 25 years in legal practice.”
