Daniel Lewis

Daniel joined Meridian Lawyers in 2022. He advises clients in the healthcare sector, including public hospitals and individual practitioners, across a diverse range of matters in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

Daniel is experienced in defending medical negligence claims and regularly acts for individuals and organisations in coronial investigations, including inquests. Daniel also assists health professionals including medical practitioners, pharmacists, registered nurses, and allied health practitioners in investigations conducted by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Daniel represents health practitioners related to criminal proceedings and statutory offences arising from their practice. He has a keen interest in health privacy matters, including assisting public health services with Freedom of Information requests. He also has experience advising in discrimination cases.

Prior to joining Meridian Lawyers, Daniel was the Manager of Medico-Legal Services for one of Victoria’s largest public health services.
