Jennifer has more than 10 years’ experience in personal injury, insurance, and health law.
Initially, Jennifer managed the defence of workers compensation and general liability claims before focusing on medical negligence. For close to five years, she managed the defence of medical negligence claims brought against Queensland public hospitals. During this time she also represented hospitals and individual practitioners in regulatory processes.
Jennifer was also seconded to one of Queensland’s largest Hospital and Health Services to work as in-house legal counsel, providing advice to hospital staff and executive on a range of health law matters. This experience gives her a unique understanding of the varied pressures faced by health practitioners working in the public health system.
In addition to her extensive pre-court experience, Jennifer has instructed on trials that have proceeded in the District and Supreme Courts and onto the Court of Appeal.
Jennifer has an eye for detail and will investigate and analyse the circumstances of a claim as well as the history and current status of the claimant. She works to progress claims to a reasonable resolution in a desirable timeframe and applies lateral thinking when matters become stagnant or have particularly difficult obstacles to overcome.
