Steven Canton

Steven specialises in defending medical negligence claims and in representing health practitioners and health facilities in regulatory and disciplinary proceedings and coronial investigations and inquests. With more than a decade of insurance-sector experience he brings deep expertise to complex healthcare disputes.

He frequently represents medical practitioners and allied health professionals in litigated claims before the courts. Steven’s regulatory practice includes defending clients in matters before the Health Care Complaints Commission, the relevant professional councils, and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, alongside representing clients in coronial investigations and inquests.

Steven also works closely with private hospitals and health facilities, advising on regulatory investigations, internal dispute resolution processes, and issues relating to corporate governance.
