Edwina Arms
Edwina advises clients in the healthcare sector, including health professionals, public hospitals and primary healthcare providers, across a diverse range of matters in courts and tribunals in Victoria and interstate. She has an established practice in medical negligence litigation, coronial investigations and inquests, regulatory investigations and proceedings, and complaints before health complaints commissioners.
With a background in abuse claims and child protection, Edwina has a particular interest in professional boundary cases and represents individual practitioners in complex and high-stake regulatory investigations and proceedings. This background also underpins her work with childcare centres in departmental investigations and coronial inquests.
Edwina gained invaluable insight into the needs of her insurer clients during a secondment as a Claims Specialist with the Victorian Government’s insurer and risk advisor, where she managed a large portfolio of coronial matters and medical negligence claims.
Edwina’s career highlights include representing allied health professionals in a cluster-death coronial inquest, resolving high-quantum litigated claims for public hospitals, and achieving fair outcomes for health practitioners in AHPRA investigations. She is recognised for her tailored approach and commitment to delivering the best outcomes for her clients.
